We are now seeking to appoint an individual to the position of Dean of Education and results, a newly created position focused on shaping and enhancing the overall student learning practice and results at St Mary's University. This includes the University's approach to education and student practice including innovations in teaching delivery, building communities and bringing the student voice and equality, diversity and inclusion agendas into key committees and decision making. Reporting to the Provost and Chief Academic agent, the postholder will work collegially with colleagues across the University, including St Mary's Student Union, to ensure the delivery of high-quality education, fostering an environment that empowers students and academic staff in the delivery of an exceptional student practice. The postholder will also lead the University's engagement with significant areas of the external regulatory landscape and the development and implementation of the University's Access and Participation Plan, Equality Charters, Discapability Confident Scheme and our LGBTQ+ inclusion project.
You will bring a substantial and demonstrable record of outstanding achievement in a senior academic leadership abilities function and practice of driving change and impactful results in education and the student practice. You will also have practice of leading transformational change in learning and teaching at institutional level and practice of interpreting pedagogical theory and innovation into actionable and impactful plans. You will bring excellent communication expertise, including the capability to use advocacy and negotiating expertise to effect change, along with an knowledge of how this function can help to enhance the University's widening participation, equal opportunities and social inclusion agendas, and a commitment to translating this knowledge into action.
