Counselling & Psychotherapy at Warwick is a prosperous, and growing curriculum area with a reputation for quality; delivered by a nationally recognised team. We are pursuing to increase our pool of sessional teaching staff to join our dynamic, dedicated, and enthusiastic Counselling & Psychotherapy team.
Our Counselling and Psychotherapy provision is expanding, popular and dynamic providing opportunity for colleagues to being their areas of skills to highly motivated students on our BA Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Relationship programme and on our MSc Psychotherapy and Counselling (including Psychotherapist or Psychotherapeutic Counselling) training routes. The programmes are moving to a more Integrative therapeutic base with a firm Relational core to reflect an evolving field and meet the needs of the diverse and sometimes complex needs of clients. Therefore, prosperous candidates will need to be able to deliver teaching and learning on Integrative Relational counselling and psychotherapeutic accredited programmes.
To be prosperous you will have excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills, significant teaching practice, and the capability to facilitate counselling and psychotherapy training groups. The ideal Sessional teaching staff will help to further grow and develop the uniquely holistic approach we take to developing students' integrative therapeutic identity.
As a member of sessional teaching staff, you will work with colleagues to undertake teaching activities across a range of modules or within your specific subject area. Opportunities may include dissertation supervision for students, providing advice on study skills, assessing the work and progress of students and providing constructive feedback. The work will also include administrative tasks, such as keeping attendance records and supporting students during clinical placement arrangements.

The ideal candidate should have:
   » A good honours degree and postgraduate qualification (desirable) or equivalent in a significant discipline. Recently qualified practitioners with an interest in teaching are welcome to apply.
   » Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist expertise in the discipline to contribute to teaching programmes.
   » Proven capability and achievements in teaching in higher and adult education.
   » capability to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
   » Familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning.
   » Full practitioner registration with either BACP or UKCP
   » Teacher training qualification or HEA fellowship (desirable)
   » significant doctoral level study (desirable)
