Fixed term 9 months, 0.8 fractional contract The School of Education, Humanities & Languages at Oxford Brookes University seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in History as cover for a lecturer who is on maternity leave. The prosperous candidate will have practice of teaching History at undergraduate level. They will be a enthusiastic teacher who communicates well with students, has particular skills in the history of the United States and a availability to teach on skills modules. The prosperous candidate must hold - or be close to the completion of - a doctorate in a significant field.

In addition to teaching, you will participate in recruitment activities, offer pastoral support to a diverse body of students, and have a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

You will be given training, support, mentoring and opportunities for Professional Development.

You will be responsible for:
   » delivering beginner to advanced undergraduate modules in History though face-to-face teaching.
   » administering undergraduate teaching.
You should have:
   » a PhD in History or closely related discipline, or close to completion
   » practice of teaching History at undergraduate level
   » excellent team-working and communication skills.
