Offer: Research Associate - Powder Alloying and AM of Multifunctional Structures:Job description:Job location: Loughborough University, Loughborough, Hybrid/On-site Fixed-term for 12 months, with the possibility of extending. The post can be on a full-time or part-time basis. Loughborough University has an exciting opportunity to join the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering as a Research Associate in Powder, Alloying and AM of Multifunctional Structures. this function is suited to anambitious researcher who has a passion for materials science, manufacturing and engineering. The project involves the development of new alloys to manufacture structures using Additive Manufacturing from metal powder feeds. The researcher will work on the entire workflow from powder selection and preparation, manufacturing process parameterisation, characterisation of the resulting alloy and structure, and validation. Data analytics methods will be applied to accelerate the knowledge of materials discovery, processing parameters and system optimisation.
