Keele University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Film Studies (Education & Scholarship) within the School of Humanities. The prosperous candidate will ensure an excellent student practice by contributing to teaching, assessment, and administration processes connected with undergraduate and potentially postgraduate programmes, and to undertake and potentially publish scholarship commensurate with their career stage. candidates with a teaching specialism in any area of Film Studies are welcome, but the prosperous candidate will be a versatile teacher, able to cover modules on British and on world cinemas at all three undergraduate levels. Modules you will teach will include ?Global Popular Cinemas', ?Gender and the Cinematic Gaze', and ?British Social Realism'.
The prosperous candidate will have a PhD in Film Studies or a cognate area; they will have a proven record of prosperous teaching at university level; and they will have a record of academic scholarship commensurate with career stage, as well as specific plans for scholarship that enhances teaching during the appointment.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for ten months, running from 1 September 2024 until 30June 2025.
