This is an exciting time to be joining the UEA Security team with the broad growth and development in the division currently.
this function will see you undertaking foot and vehicle patrols, providing a reassuring presence in deterring crime and anti-social behaviour, providing information to staff, students and visitors, assisting with traffic management and responding to security and other incidents.
With a strong Customer focus, you will provide and maintain a safe, secure and sustainable environment for staff, students and visitors to the UEA 24 hours a day all over the year. You will protect the buildings and property of the UEA and the welfare and property of Staff, Students and Visitors.You will be the first responder for incidents and will contact with emergency services as required.
You will have substantial recent practice of working in a similar security environment and be educated to GCSE Grade C level or equivalent in Maths and English. You will need excellent communication and customer care expertise and be able to promote the core values of the University. The capability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances and to be sensitive to the needs and views of other is essential.
You will beexpected to work a four on, four off 12-hour rotational shift pattern that includes days and nights.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this function if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity significant to children.
